Shipping, Returns & Core Charges Policies  

Shipping within the US

Our standard shipping method is by UPS ground service (1-5 days, not guaranteed). For faster delivery, 3 Day Guaranteed, 2 Day Guaranteed or Next Day Guaranteed can be requested, at a higher rate. Shipping charges are determined by weight, zone, and number of packages; and are charged as actual shipping charges plus a $3.00 handling fee (with a $9.00 minimum charge).
Oversize packages will be shipped by truck freight and shipping charges will be applied accordingly. C.O.D. fees are an additional $10.50. Indiana residents please add 7% sales tax.

Shipping Outside the US

All payments must be made in U.S. dollars.  Please specify shipment by USPS Global Express (3-5 days), USPS Priority Mail or USPS Airmail Parcel Post (this method is not recommended because we are unable to track the package) unless otherwise indicated in the special shipping instructions.

Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt for accuracy and condition. Notify our customer service department of any deficiencies as soon as possible.

CORE RETURNS: Certain items listed as “exchange” require a refundable core charge in addition to the cost of the part. The core charge is listed on the invoice as the (Part#)C. If you have purchased an item with a core charge, you are encouraged to send the old part back to us for a core charge refund within 90 days of receiving your order. Please enclose a copy of the invoice with the return. Also, please wrap the item as well as the new part was wrapped when originally shipped to you. Core charge refunds will be adjusted for damage incurred in shipping and/or for cores returned after 90 days. Cores returned after 90 days will have core refunds reduced by 50%. Cores returned after one year will have core refunds reduced by 50% and applied as in-store credit. No return authorization number is required to return a core item. Please allow four weeks for processing. Please do not return cores to us at swap meets or car shows. Because of shortage of cores, some items require that a core be sent to us in advance of shipping your order. To avoid delays in receiving your core charge refund, you may send your core in advance of receiving your order.

RETURNS: Call (317) 736-6233 customer service M - F 9am - 5 pm EST to obtain a return authorization (RA) number. This number should be clearly written on the return label. Packages returned without a RA number will be refused. Special order items are not returnable. To ensure accurate handling of your return, a copy of the invoice must be enclosed. Packages returned without a copy of invoice will be assessed a $10.00 handling fee.

Damaged/Defective Items

Products purchased from us that are found to be damaged or defective will be replaced or repaired at our option. Packages damaged in shipping ARE NOT to be returned directly to us. Keep the damaged items, as well as the shipping container and report damages to our customer service department. We, as the shipper, will assume responsibility for contacting the carrier for a return pick-up. Please keep intact as much of the original packaging as possible.

WARRANTY

All NOS, new replacement, or reproduction parts are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and material for 30 days from the date of purchase. Rebuilt parts, such as water pumps, fuel pumps, carburetors, brake cylinders, etc., are warranted for six months, from date of purchase. Items not used by the customer or not installed until later date have no special warranty past the original 30 eays or six months from date of purchase. Liability of Max Merritt Auto Parts is limited to the replacement of defective parts only. Max Merritt Auto Parts is not liable for any damages to property, loss of time, loss of profits, income, or any other incidental damages arising from the purchase or use of items purchased. The buyer assumes all risk or loss associated with parts purchased from Max Merritt Auto Parts. Any part that, in our opinion, shows evidence of operating or being installed against manufacturer’s recommendations will not be covered by this warranty.

Requirements for Refund/Exchange within 30 days

We will refund the purchase price (Less Applicable Restock Fee) if returned within 30 days of delivery provided:
The items returned are in “as sent” condition with all the original packaging, instruction manuals and warranty information.
We will not accept returns on product(s) that have any of the above items missing. Kit items will not be refunded with missing or damaged pieces. If you are not sure if you will be satisfied with the product(s) you are purchasing, please keep all packaging and papers in good condition in case you need to make a return. A 20% RESTOCK FEE WILL BE APPLIED ON RETURNS UNLESS ITEM IS BEING RETURNED DUE TO OUR ERROR. Shipping is not refundable unless item is being returned due to our error. Credit card purchases will be refunded to the same card. Check/money order purchases will be refunded by check in the mail. Please allow four to six weeks for refund processing. Items returned after 30 days will be returned to customer or have the credit applied to future puchases at our discretion.
